This work done during the residency at Scene44 was the natural continuation of one of our past projects: Yi Ou Lai. We resumed from focal points concerning both the visual aspects and the choreography. From the visual point of view we wanted to further develop the idea of threads as a representation of the links between Chinese and European culture. We also decided to experiment with the visuals by introducing interactive elements that would translate the movement of the dancers into animation. Both the visual appearance and the choreography have derived from these decisions, developing and making them evolve constantly to reach the best solutions in terms of expressiveness and technical performance. Music and sound are integral parts of our creative process, in this particular case, the music was composed specifically for the show during our stay in Marseille. During the residency we created three scenes based on the physics of threads in order to give maximum prominence to the three moments of choreography. Scene44 gave us the opportunity to meet and experiment for the development of a small show in a great space. All that has been achieved has been developed and prototyped during the residency, working with the stimuli that the location and characteristics of the area of SCENE44 gave us. The show will be developed further and is expected to be staged in Shanghai in the second half of 2015 .
