Excerpt from the half hour documentary "Generations of Honor: A Year with the Young Marines". The Young Marine program is a national youth organization with a focus on Veterans appreciation. I had the pleasure of producing and editing this piece and this is one of my favorite moments. Depicted are several survivors of the Battle of Iwo Jima during the Pacific Campaign of WWII. Their stories of landing & fighting up Suribachi are illustrated by historic 8mm & color footage taken the day of the battle.
